I hope each and every one of you has the merriest of Christmases. I pray that you are blessed and in good health, and looking forward to what God will do in your life.
My favorite Christmas song, ever, is Silent Night. There is no song that captures the feeling of Christmas as this one does. Boyz II Men did a valiant job on their rendition of the song, but it is The Temptations’ version that I select as #1. The harmony alone just makes me feel like shoutin’.
Merry Christmas, everyone! See ya next year!

At #2, we have the classic This Christmasby Donny Hathaway. This one always reminds me of going to my grandma’s house on Christmas Day and being surrounded by family and friends as we open gifts and eat and laugh. Good times, indeed…

I love little Michael’s voice on Santa Claus is Coming to Town. So energetic, so wise beyond the years, and so full of itself (in a good way). Enjoy #3!

Around my house, it isn’t Christmas until we decorate the tree and put on Christmas Interpretations. It is the greatest CD Boyz II Men ever put together, and one that lasts and lasts and lasts.
Enjoy Let It Snow, appearing in the #4 spot.

I still marvel at Whitney Houston’s voice. It is absolutely perfect. So perfect, in fact, that when she begins to sing, you stop what you are doing to listen. #5 is Do You Hear What I Hear. Listen to how she caresses this song; she is the pinnacle of perfection.

The song at #6 always make me hug the ones I love a little harder and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas. Someday at Christmas reminds us to be thankful for all of the blessings we have received, and to spread that to others.
“Someday at Christmas men won’t be boys
Playing with bombs like kids play with toys
One warm December our hearts will see
A world where men are free”
Beautiful…

If God takes requests for what I want to come back as, I choose Luther Vandross’s voice (or maybe Aretha’s…or Whitney’s). Even though this song is a teeny bit sad, it is his voice that sounds like butter wrapped in suede that pulls you right on through. Grab a glass of dark liquor, light the fireplace, and let Luther croon to you. #7 is Every Year, Every Christmas…enjoy!

Lou Rawls with The Little Drummer Boyslides in at #8. Smooth and full of jazz, this version is inclined to make you snap your fingers and bop your head right along to the music.

The incomparable Ms. Eartha Kitt is up next in the #9 spot. Santa Baby is one of those songs you put on after the lights go out and the kids go to bed on Christmas Eve, so you can snuggle with your own personal Santa. Rawrrr!
