You never know what a person has had to endure in their life. You never know what kind of childhood, or what kind of things they have seen in their lives that mold them into the person they are.

The thing is, you can either take those things and (1) let them eat away at your insides until you are completely dark and empty, and what is left is a remnant of what could have been; or (2) use these images and situations to motivate you to become bigger than the obstacles.

Tyler Perry used everything that was against him and climbed over them to get where he is. I don’t care what you think of his movies, or whether you think he is “bringing the race down” with his brand of movie-making (don’t even go there with me), you have to look at his story and feel proud of him.

I am proud of him, and I don’t know him from Adam. But then again, I am proud of anyone who doesn’t lose himself to their circumstances, but instead relies on faith to rise above it.

I read an e-mail that Tyler sent out this morning and it gives you an eye into who he is and what he has had to overcome. You can read it here

Live your life. Never let anyone decide your fate.

Peace…

I like the dude, for his business savvy and some of his movies, I cant knock the man's hustle. So I alwaysd find it funny how polarizing his name can be, even funnier when you think about how the ones doing the crying are doing absolutely nothing in film. It's that old crabs in the bucket mentality.
  • God has surely preserved and kept Tyler Perry for such a time as this. Amen!

To come through abuse of every kind and testify of God's healing is giving Him glory.
