I am going on a rant…bear with me…

I received word this evening that the Young and The Restless has lost their ever loving mind! They are letting the crux of the show, the all knowing and all powerful Great Victor Newman walk away from this show!

I have watched Y & R since I was 5 years old. I remember my granny fixing us tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches and sitting down to enjoy Bob Barker on The Price is Right, and then Y & R immediately after. So of course, I am absolutely distraught about this news!

This is the only soap opera that I watch. I used to be a big fan of General Hospital, but soon after Robert Scorpio was supposedly dead with his wife Anna Devane, they lost me. That left me with Y & R. I’ve rode with this soap through Nikki and Victor, Mrs. Chancellor (the original gangstress), Nikki and Jack, Victor & Ashley, Nikki & Brad, Victor & Hope…I think you get the picture.

Y & R leads the soap wars by almost 2 million viewers…how are you going to let one of the top 3 main characters on the set just walk away? All over money? Read the story here to find out exactly what is going down…

Wait until I call my granny tomorrow and let her know about this. She is going to flip her lid!

I was very disappointed in the writers for letting Niki and Victor leave. What is your problem. You want to get rid of some people then get rid of Adam, Gloria and Jeff. The writers should think of their own ideas instead of taking from other soaps.

I am disappointed too! But I think the backlash they get from letting Victor go will kick them in the butts and make them realize that they can't just go fooling with something that is part of people's lives...

We breathe this soap...they can't do us like this!

Although I'm an ABC guy when I do watch the soaps, I keep up a little with what's happening on the other shows. When I was at the grocery store the other day, I was shocked to see the cover of one of the soap opera magazines which stated that Eric Braeden was leaving Y&R. Big mistake. I won't be surprised if another soap snaps him up pronto.

I am so distraught, I don't know what to do! I called my granny today and she literally dropped the phone! When she came back, she said, "Well, I guess I'll have to find something else to watch at 11!"

They just don't know how much viewership they are going to lose...

I'm so upset over the baby switch, that I'm making the switch and turning off the show.

MM - it is so hard to let something that I've loved for over 30 years go...but I'm thoroughly disgusted. I'm turning it off too...sadly.
