Tribute: Prince

You couldn’t possibly believe that I would let His Royal Badness’s birthday pass without some acknowledgement, did you? Yesterday, The Purple One turned 51 and from what I can tell, he is still as brilliant as he was when he hit the scene at 19. He is like the finest of wines, only getting better with age. Of course, pure musical talent usually does. That pseudo-rivalry between Michael Jackson and Prince? I hopped so fast off of the Michael Jackson bus it would have caused you to sprain your neck. There was something wanton, something forbidden, something utterly decadent about Prince that attracted me and kept me wanting more and more. I will always believe that Michael Jackson was the better entertainer…but Prince? The better musician.

I could go on and on, but instead, I will share with you my three (!) favorite tunes by this genius. It was hard, and incredibly difficult, but there is always one song that ends up in the top three…can you guess which one? LOL…

I agree. Nothing else to say. I've loved Prince since his first album. Realized while I was at the gym that my MP3 player has a whole lot of Prince on it. LOL. If he's on TV for any reason, and I'm not around, my offspring will yell, "Mom! You're missing Prince."
