This was an interesting theme.

When I had a bad day at work, I sometimes just wanted to come home, kick off my shoes, sit down, and close my eyes for a minute. A nice relaxing song would help get my mind off of the day I just had, sorta like this one:

But then there were times when I was just mad at the world, and needed something that put my anger into words. No soft music was going to do…it needed to go hard, like this one:

  • I can see how B.O.B. can help relieve some pent up stress. I've never heard this song before.
Classic Marley takes me to another place.

    Happy OSF.
  • Great picks! I LOVE Stir It Up! Bombs over Baghdad makes me want to hurt someone!!
  • "Stir It Up" will definitely get you into a better mood. It's hard to listen to that song and not start to smile. I love OutKast. Luv 'em. Great choices. Happy OSF!
  • Great choices! I haven't heard BOB in a while. Happy OSF!
  • Old school and new. Always a good combination. I'm just having a dance party over my way. Come and check us out.
  • Bob Marley's Stir It Up is relaxing but I usually need something that gets my blood moving in a good direction, something with a little swing and a little jive and some boogie woogie - come on, you know where I'm going here - Big Bands!
  • Relaxing is good and so is Bob Marley - one of my favorites when I need to wind down - but when I've had a bad day I need a little swing and a little jive and some boogie woogie - come on, you know where I'm going here - Big Bands

    Happy OSF!

I was that slow kid who heard Bombs Over Baghdad, and then when I saw the video went back to school asking .."But who's Bob?"

Great choices. I used Bob Marley also.

  • This is too funny, my first choice was Bombs Over Baghdad, but when I added Linkin Park, I thought hmmmm, too much rage, so I switched to Mel Waiters. Yes, BOB gets me going, and is certainly a de-stresser.
  • I feel you on the Outkast number when soft just won't do it. Sometimes you have to Let it Burn, keeping it in won't do.

Excellent choices! There is definitely a point in getting over a bad day when you need a song like B.O.B. that you can scream in your car to while driving home...

    Happy OSF!!!
  • Hey Marvalus.

You know you simply cannot go wrong with Bob Marley. He was so much more than a musician/performer, just one of the greats.

Thanks a lot for this one and Happy OSF!

Happy OSF! Outkast is truly a creative crew...

I went in another direction with my OSF post this week. I invite your blog readers to consider that when the workplace is giving you the blues then it is a good time to remember this is a wonderful life!

    peace, Villager
  • Happy OSF!

Two great choices! Two entirely different mindsets. I feel you on both of them.

I absolutely love this song. Now i'm going to have to go dig up my reggae music - LOL.
  • Bob Marley was a legend! Happy OSF
  • I didn't get to do ti this week, but I like the more soothing songs after a bad day - except maybe on the way home in the car.
  • YESSIR! Some Bob - it can't get any more mellow than that. And talk about cranking up the volume with B.O.B. - WHOLLY!

That definitely ranks as a song to put on BLAST. :)
