Old School Friday: TV Theme Songs

I am addicted to soap operas…you can blame my granny for this one. Either day or night, it doesn’t matter. Nowadays, we don’t have many nighttime soap operas, but two of my favorites: Dallas and Dynasty.

I loved JR Ewing and his nastiness…pure unadulterated fun!

And who could forget Alexis Carrington? Ooh, what a bitch…and I loved every inch of her! I especially loved when Diahann Carroll joined the cast as Dominique Devereaux…she gave Alexis a run for her money!

OMG! I loved me some "Dallas" jack. JR was the man you love to hate and "Dynasty" was the bizness Miss Marva. Those fights were legend on that show.

Dallas is a good one. :) I was young but addicted to the drama of the show. LOL

"Dallas" was and still is one of my favorite shows. J.R. Ewing is the gold standard for TV villains. I took a break from typing these comments just so I could watch some "Dallas" clips on You Tube.

I forgot about these. What a great surprise! I watched both, and then Dallas on reruns. I forgot how long the cast list was on Dynasty.

Cool! I use to watch both shows and I have actually been to the Southfork Ranch, which is a tourist attraction. Happy OSF!

Hehe!! I am just as guilty as you when it comes to those two shows, those were staples in my household. I can go down the list girl, Falcon Crest, Knots Landing (on my page) etc.

Oh, got so excited I forgot to say - I was a Dynasty fan - had to love those cat fights between Alexis and Krystal! And they never killed anyone then brought them back dripping wet either, lol. But you just had to love to hate JR!

I have to admit I never cared for either show, but the themes have stuck in my mind. When they were popular you just couldn't get away from them.

My mom used to watch both shows, but 'Dallas' had the better theme music. Aaron Spelling was a media beast back in the 80's and 90's.

I watched Die-nasty more than Dallas, but still reference the who shot JR season of Dallas when I want to make a point about writers manipulating audiences because it was a great play no matter what the critics said. Dig that funky disco beat.

They did the Dynasty theme right with that majestic music for the uppity Carringtons. Whatever happened to Emma Samms?

I loved both of these night soaps. Remeber when Billy Dee came on Dynasty and the bathtub sceen. LOL! I was at a sorority meeting and it was on because we knew that he was going to be on. Stopped the meeting dead in its tracks! LOL.
