jeffersons-cast

I caught a marathon of The Jeffersons this past weekend. I was due for a reminder at how totally side-splitting funny this show was! From George and his one-sided views to Louise and her constant nagging…to the one person on the show who showed up and showed out: Mother Jefferson! Oh, how I loved Mother Jefferson! Her constant insults thrown at Louise and out in the open secret sipping of her cocktails made the show hilarious.

And how could I forget about Florence! The way she and George went at it was hysterical…total comedy!

Here are a few clips to stir up your memory:

  • I was beginning to wonder where were the folks who watched this show! hee hee...
  • I absolutely loved/love this show! Well, I love a lot of old sitcoms!
  • I am finding out that not many people liked the Jeffersons...I wonder why not?
  • Ya know, 'The Jefferson's' was one of my least favorite "black" shows. I love 'Good Times' and 'Sanford and Son' though and you can best believe that when a marathon is running of either of those two shows, then I am on it :-)
  • The Billy Dee episode had me cracking up...man, he was so smooth (still is)...

Loved the Jeffersons. George was a trip. Always throwing someone out. Loved the Billy Dee episode and Florence of course. Good stuff Marva.
  • Finally, someone who agrees with me! I giggled, and then giggled some more at this show this weekend...and remembered why I loved to watch it. I loved it when Mother Jefferson was on...her quips used to make me laugh out loud!

I agree about CBS...they were oh so wrong!
  • I am with you Marvalus... The Jeffersons was funny as hell!! There were so many hilarious moments. One that comes to mind is one of the later episodes where the men (George, Tom, and Lionel) said that housework was easy. Of course, they made a royal mess of things. Some of my favorite episodes were the flashbacks (for example, the one where George opened his first store in 1968, right around the time that MLK was killed). It's a shame the way CBS treated the show. For a show that ran for 10 years, it deserved to get a series finale.
  • Really?! Maybe it was because I was cooped up in the house this weekend, not feeling well...but I giggled for hours!
  • Wasnt really a big fan of the show either.
  • Maybe it's just me but I never liked the Jeffersons! I did like Mr. Bentley though.
