Old School Friday: No Promises, No Demands… (Blogger’s Choice)

So today is a free day…dowhatchyalike! I just happened to be listening to the radio and this song came on and it literally brought tears to my eyes because it is one of my favorite songs ever (!) and I haven’t heard it in such a long time. I happened to be about 12 when this song was released, going through all the motions of going through puberty and not getting along with my mom, and this song became my anthem.

I never heard that song before - it is a perfect anthem for an angst ridden teenage girl! I was trying to think of what song would have done that for me around the same age.

I came up with "Leader of the Pack" - because I was crushing madly on a guy who was five years older than me (wow, he was nineteen!), he was a bad boy and he drove a Harley. My mother hated him - which, of course, made me like him even more!

Happy New Year, Ms. Marvelus! Oh, I posted a bunch of retro, classic "Auld Lang Syne" recordings just for the halibut.

One of my favorite parts of the video to "Love Is A Battlefield" is when a "teenaged" Pat runs away from home and her father says, "You leave this house now... you can just forget about coming back!"

I also took the opportunity to play "Name That Video" by looking at the You Tube player screen but not hitting "play".

Great choice! I am a huge Pat Benatar fan. I can't believe I missed this week. Friday just seemed to vanish, one day it was Thursday and than it seemed like it was Sat, where did Friday go?
