Happy Holidays to all! I’ve been waiting on this post (in fact, it’s been done for 2 weeks!)…

I love Christmas music…I have a ritual where Christmas doesn’t officially begin in my home until Boyz II Men’s “Let It Snow” and The Temptations “Silent Night” are played as we set up the tree and decorations. To get further in the mood, I choose:

Toni Braxton – Christmas Time Is Here

and,

Luther Vandross – Every Year, Every Christmas

and,

Whitney Houston – Do You Hear What I Hear

Oh there are lots more…but I’ll stop there…

I wish you all a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, Happy Kwanzaa…I’ll just cover it all by saying Happy Holidays!

  • You are really taking me back!

By the way, you've been tagged!
  • I love your picks. I originally also picked the same Toni and Luther songs, but changed at the last minute. The Whitney pick is wonderful. I love Toni Braxton and Luther is never second to anyone. Excellent! Happy OSF.
  • This is the first time I've heard Toni's version of Christmas Time Is Here. Great songs. Merry Christmas.
  • Great picks! Especially that Luther!!!
    Merry Christmas!
  • Wonderful choices Marvalus. Have a happy holiday.
  • Okay, My favorite Christmas Song is "I'll Be Home For Christmas" by Bing Crosby BUT I THINK THE GRINCH GETS A BAD RAP! and I had to post a video and song that just always makes me laugh and feel good - don't ask me why, I'm just weird!
  • Whitney's rendition of that song sends a chill up my spine. I just may be in the xmas spirit yet!
    Have a great holiday!
  • I have never heard the Luther Vandross song, I likey a lot. I wanted to choose Let It Snow, but something told me it would be popular this Friday.

I love the old Whitney, such a nice voice with a lot of power.

    MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
  • I love all of your choices. I especially liked Whitney Houston! Merry Christmas!
  • Happy OSF! This is my first time hearing Toni Braxton song. I like your annual music tradition at home!

Thank you for visiting my blog earlier today. I invite your blog readers to check out Kurtis Blow as he engages in some Christmas Rapping. Some of y'all young folk don't know what I'm talkin' about...

I love Whitney. She is such an amazing singer.
  • Now you know you're into some serious Christmas music when you break out with Whitney and Luther. Her version of Do You Hear What I Hear is amazing.
  • I must say, this one was pretty easy for me because of the Boyz II Men, but I am so not a Christmas carol kind of chick, unless I am in the mood. I guess it's the Scrooge in me...lol

    Happy OSF.
