I love a good jazz tune…it is soothing to my soul and spirit, and eases my mind like no other genre. There is truly a magical feel to jazz.

  • I love Georgia!! great choices!
  • I had to play this twice before I commented! Moody brings back so many memories! My mom was such a lover of music, I can hear a song and immediately go back to a point in my childhood! This song is definitely part of the soundtrack to my life!
  • Kim
Ray Charles was such a great artist. I still think about CocaCola everytime I see him though...you would think you outgrow that.
  • I like that version of "I'm In the Mood for Love". It's much better than Alfalfa's off-key rendition.
  • GA On My Mind is a very familiar classic, but There I Go is my favorite of the two. So many people have done a great job with the song.
  • My mother got me for my Ray Charles CD. I'll see her next week so I can swipe it back.

Ms Marvalus, I was looking for your email address. Send me an email when you can please at symphonyep@gmail.com I need to run something by you.
  • Ray Charles was a true master. The way he took jazz and then stirred it up with gospel, country, and blues was incredible. Ray always sang songs you could 'feel' deep down, and that always ranks first with me. If I'm not feelin it, then I'm not likin it.

I absolutely lurrvvvveee "Georgia". Thanks for taking me back.
  • Great choices today. Happy Friday.
  • Your avatar may be going through some things. But at least she's looking fly!

I remember seeing Ray perform live at the Capital Jazz Fest some years ago. Nothing like it.

Surprisingly I wasn't that familiar with Moody's Mood For Love until a friend of mine chose it as her wedding some a few years back. Lovely song in its many versions!

    Happy OSF!
  • You are so right! I was just having that conversation not 5 min. ago about the necessity of music that soothes rather than gets us amped up all of the time. Thanks for this MARVALOUS pick!
  • Ray Charles was a nice pick, Happy OSF.
  • I love Moody's Blues! Although I am not a fan of Brian McKnight, he sounds real mellow here. Of course Ray Charles was great. Great choices. Happy OSF!
  • Love the choices marv. I haven't listened to Brian McNight much. Nice.
  • Georgia on my mind...Classic! I love it!
  • Ray Charles is a genius.
  • I love that version of "Moody's Mood For Love," I think they did a phenomenal job on that.

    Happy belated OSF. :)
