Oh, it has been a long road…filled with emotion, passion, tears, hopes, dreams…but it is culminated into a beautiful realization of everything that you fight for, can be achieved.

I lift my glass to the next First Family of the United States…

  • Last week still seems a bit surreal, but less so as we get closer to January 20th. By the way, props to the artist(s) responsible for that picture from Essence.com.
  • It is a beautiful thing..Black is beautiful...
I'm still in disbelief but proud..I was one of the ones who said "America is not ready to accept a Black President," but I was wrong..they want change..
My grandmother raised me after my mom passed away. My grandmother passed away in 2002 her birthday was January 15th and she was so proud that she shared the same b-day as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I wish she could've been alive to see this historic moment..
Over 200 years of history has been changed with the first African-American President..WOW!
  • Hello Marva,

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama give me hope that better days are coming for all Americans. Matters not the colour of our skin.

As my unsung heroes and sheroes would say if they were still alive today, "Thank You Jesus!!"

    Great is God's faithfulness!

  • I love that they did it with grace. They were kicked and shoved the whole way and they just let the hate bounce off them.

I like to think they were using every cuss word in the book behind closed doors.

Cooper - I was just a bundle of nerves...right up until Ohio, I think...after that, it was pretty much over for me too.

    Oh what a beautiful thing!
  • It was such a relief I could hardly even post about it so I decided not to. I couldn't do it justice really. I was quite tense earlier in the evening when the first exit polls were rolling, then the polls in PA closed and within five seconds they called PA for Obama, once they called Ohio I knew the nation had retained their senses and he was going to win.

    Signed, Sealed, Delivered.
  • You know, I think this must be The Chosen Photo for the day, and that's just fine. Just means we all agree how powerful this image is, and what it says.

Man oh man. What it says...

    Mrs. G - Doesn't it, though...

    Mike - Me too...
  • Lol. I am still numb!
  • Today just feels good.

D - I'm still in tears...Hallelujah is right! I'm tired, but can't go to bed, I'm so giddy...

Hallelujah! We did it Miss Marva!
