Did you hear about the rose that grew
from a crack in the concrete?
Proving nature’s law is wrong it
learned to walk with out having feet.
Funny it seems, but by keeping it’s dreams,
it learned to breathe fresh air.
Long live the rose that grew from concrete
when no one else ever cared.

  • The forgotten side of Pac.
  • Tupac sure had a way with words.
  • Pac's poetry was another reason I was feeling him as a person, not just a rapper. The fact that he was up on politics and actually had an informed opinion was one thing, but the poetry was what made him so interesting. Yeah, he could rap about some BS sometimes, but the flip side was what made him stand out.

I actually don't fall into the "Tupac was prolific" camp, but i do appreciate his poetry. I really like this poem.
  • One of Tupac's better moments...

I've always loved the Pac who reflected and was thoughtful. I heart this poem til this day. Thanks for the reminder Miss Marva!

All - I was just browsing the 'net and came across this and was struck by the beauty and simplicity of these words. Those of you who have followed me know that I love Pac...and this is one of the many reasons why. The rap and shit was one thing, but this is where he laid his soul out for all to see...
  • I'm glad you posted this because it shows a side of Tupac that often gets overlooked. Hell, some people may not even know that he wrote poetry.
