10 – This Song
This man puts the S-O-U-L in soul. The beauty of his voice is that it is not beautiful like Smokey’s or Luther’s…but it is rough, and guttural, and filled with so much emotion that you feel like you are right there with him, going through the same shit he’s talking about. Even if you don’t smoke, you want to go out on the porch and light one up, and drink some brown liquor, you know? I love Anthony Hamilton, and I hope he never loses whatever this is that he has…

9 – This Fool Right Here
OK, so Chester the Molester R. Kelly was on BET doing an interview with Toure’ last week. I have never seen someone who was in more denial than this fool right here. When you are asked, “Do you like teenage girls?” The answer is no, if that is what you mean. You don’t counter with, “When you say teenage, how old are we talking?” What. kind. of. shit. is. that?! What it sounds like to me is that the prosecution FAILED!!!
8 – Obama, The Insider
Never mind that just yesterday (it seems like) he was brand new and didn’t know shit…now he’s the reason for the downfall of Wall Street because of him being a Washington insider…at least according to the Old Dude. I read somewhere where someone wrote that even McCain’s “bullshit is bullshit”…true that.
7 – The Quote of the Year
“It would be so nice if something made sense for a change.” Alice in Wonderland
6 – I Could Look At This All Day
I need a vacation…
5 – Speaking of Obama
During Obama’s speech in Florida, a group calling themselves “Blacks Against Obama” interrupted by shouting and interfering with his speech. The group are holding up signs and yelling, “Go home!” and other things…you can hear them in the video below.
What I can appreciate is that Obama was going to let them stay. He told them they could have their signs but asked them to let him finish what he had to say…respect him like he just respected you. But these people didn’t show that and were therefore escorted out. It really must break Obama’s heart to see things like this; I know it breaks mine. Not because of the Black on Blackness of it all; but simply because the man just paid you the respect of saying you could have your signs and disagree with him; he didn’t try to silence them or tell them immediately to leave. But because they could not even show enough respect to allow this man to continue his speech goes so far into disrespect that I can hardly contain my disappointment.

4 – ???s
Have you ever just wanted to slap someone with all the strength you had in you?
Why does Cedric The Entertainer keep showing up in movies?
If you could watch movies all weekend, what would you watch? I’m in the mood for The Godfather, I & II…
Is anyone going to buy any of those LL Cool J clothes from Sears?
What do you like on your pizza?
3 – Certified Honest Blogger
I was awarded the Certified Honest Blogger Award by Believer @ Miscellaneous Matters…thanks! I have so many blog friends that it gets hard to narrow the choices down to just 7 (as this award dictates)…I’ve decided this go-round to highlight the OSF participants who have come along for the ride:
Here are the rules:
- When you receive the prize, you must write a post showing it, together with the name of who has given it to you, and link them back.
- Choose a minimum of 7 blogs (or even more) that you find brilliant in their content or design.
- Show their names and links and leave them a comment informing they were prized with ‘Honest Weblog’.
- Show a picture of those who awarded you and those you give the prize (optional).
- And then we pass it on!
And the awardees:
Mrs. Grapevine – She is the one who contacted me about starting OSF…and look at what it has turned into! Her site is gorgeous, and she uses it for good, not evil…I like it!
Shae @ HeyShae! – Lots of fun stuff at Shae’s spot…Her site is well-put together and is always full of LOL moments and truth…
Regina @ Regina’s Family Seasons – Ms. Regina brings it every OSF…and the love and respect she has for her family and for those of us she has never met, is very apparent by her heartfelt posts…
Keith @ The D Spot- Keith is repping Detroit big time…and his OSF choices are always on point!
Kim @ The Punkin Patch – Kim and I share a love of hip-hop and her spot is full of her views on what is going on in the world…and those views are thought provoking and full of wisdom.
Vivrant @ Songs In The Key Of Life – I’ve never met anyone who loves music as much as Viv does…her spot is filled with good music, and good writing…
Quick @ Quick’s Catch Up – Quick always has a fresh voice to add to OSF…and the fashion and music posts on his site are always captivating!
OK, that’s it…harder than I thought! Please pass it on in kind…
2 – Travis Barker
It has been reported this morning that a plane crashed departing from a South Carolina airport. On that plane were 6 people, including Travis Barker, the former drummer of Blink-182. Four of the people on board died, while Trav and DJ AM were critically injured.
If you don’t know who Travis Barker is, he is probably one of the most talented drummers you will ever see in your life. Dude transcends music…he is simply a beast when it comes to the drums. He has these series of posts on YouTube where he takes a popular Hip-Hop song and does a remix of it on the drums and most of the time, they sound better than the original. Peep…he is railing so hard on those drums, it looks like he’s holding four drumsticks:

1 – Race
You will see this topic again come Thursday’s Issue. But this election is going to come down to whether or not folks can vote for a Black man. It may be disguised as everything else, but let’s not fool ourselves…this is the issue at the foundation.
Happy Saturday all!
