I read my Bible every night, and right now I’m reading my favorite Book in the Bible—the book of Job. The Book of Job is about faith…when you have everything stripped away from you, will you let it destroy your relationship with God? Job was a man of integrity, a blameless man, who loss his sons and daughters, his material possessions, and was stricken with debilitating sores and boils on his body. He wanted to die and questioned why he was going through all of this; but not once did he turn his back on God.

When we go through pain and suffering, we may not always know why. And it may be a natural reaction to doubt your faith through those times…think of it this way, though: your pain and suffering can be an opening for you to build a relationship with God. He is waiting for you to turn to Him; he is always concerned…

When I woke this morning, this song was on my heart…I hope you get something out of it. Enjoy your Sunday…

  • Ms Marvalus,
A lot of people miss that Job also wrestled with his faith. He dialogued with God, questioned God, and put his complaint before God. Many times we think that faith means to not question or doubt, but rather having faith means to not fear.

Have a blessed week. The view from here is just MARVALOUS, Ms Marvarlus.

HD - You know, I was discussing this with my BFF the other day and we touched on the same subject (Job wrestling with his faith). I think that the important thing is he went straight to the source...while his friends were there telling him that he had sinned somehow, he kept saying "I want to bring my case before God and let him tell me what I have done."

    Thanks...
  • Of course it means something, you have those moments and sometimes that's all you can say, he's the only one that can help...

    @ Hagar:

I think so often people get caught up in what they heard about Christianity, instead of reading the source...If only they knew what the Bible really teaches, they would be do free...
  • Thank you for sharing the insights and the song. How do you decide *what* part of the bible to read each night?

    peace, Villager
  • Marvalus
@Villager - Thank you, Villager, for stopping by...

I take the books in order, for the most part...sometimes I just open up and let fate decide...
  • Great post! I love Job, and return there often (I have to!), faith is not as easy as some people may think it is! The tagline in my emails come from Job!
I also love that entire cd by Smokie Norful!
    Have a great week!
  • Marvalus
@regina - I often return to it to, Ms. Regina...it's one of those books that seem to rest on my heart a lot...

Smokie Norful is just full of the spirit and he gets me every time!

You have a great week too!
  • SjP
He is waiting... Amen and Amen! Much obliged for stopping by today!

It's all in the Choices we make. Have a wonderful and blessed day!
  • It is in our trying times that we struggle with our faith. You can't question why things happen you just have to look at lifes lessons as a learning experience. God may not come when YOU want him to but he's ALWAYS right on time. What don't kill you makes you stronger.."Only God Can Judge You."
Smokie is SANGING this song and it just touches my soul.
    Peace and Blessings Marvalus..
  • Boy does this one touch home.

Im such the rebellious Preacher Kid everyone expects me to be lol. Which comes with me wanting to fix everything myself, not wanting to depend on ANYONE else, even God. That comes with growing, understanding that and making the change.

I was in the hospital, having had my health taken, not working so financially things got real rough, and i tell you this GOD IS NO LIE! once i finally gave it to him, and decided to put my faith in him, he replenished my health and started me back on my way (church cliche right? lol)...... Me and many of my friends all have been reading the book of Job.... all by "coincidence"

    crazy...
  • Marvalus
@Fresh - What a great testimony! "Coincidence" indeed!

    LOL...
  • Marvalus
@Lina M - Call me crazy, but I've just gone through one of the toughest years of my life and this was when I pulled closer to God...I think that was just what He wanted me to do (isn't that the story)...

Isn't Smokie doing the thang on that song...I was blown away. I woke up with the original version in my head, but when I found this...wow!
  • Amen! I'm going through a process right now and "I Trust In The Lord!" Take a peek at today's devotional.
