I was once involved with this guy…he was good at romancing me, but he was totally not good for me. But I was caught up, and we would put on these Floetry CDs and…well, let’s just say that they hold a very special place in my heart and the memories are good ones (VERY good ones). A Floetry song could seal the cracks in your broken heart (which they did mine), and also help ease your panties off (which they did mine also). There was something about the combination of Marsha Ambrosius’ voice (so emotional, so filled with love at times, heartache at others, and yearning yet still) and Natalie Stewart’s words (soft, meaningful, pulling you further into the song, calling you into the middle of the melody) that almost made you forget where you were.

I’m going to let Floetry speak for themselves today. I think it’s tragic that they are no longer together; but I will hold on to what they left behind: passionate, heartfelt tunes that leave an imprint on your heart.

  • That was quite lovely. Nice to listen to before bed.
  • I love them forever and always! Mature, sophisticated, talented and wonderful performers. I remember Badu mentioning that they made her want to write and perform again. I want another album from them soon.

    Ciaocito!
  • i am not the biggest fan of 'floetry', but i do like that tune 'floetic'...that was a hot jump-off right there! i do like 'say yes' too. great stuff marvalus.
  • Too bad these two broke up. Great spotlight!
  • I love them!

Say Yes & Butterflies...hmmm...good times right there!

It is horrible that they split. I didn't know!
  • I love Floetry and had no clue that they had broken up!! That is sad, because they had a chemistry that just wouldn't quit. They are one of the few secular artists that I keep in rotation on my mp3. "Say Yes" "Getting Late" & "Butterflies" are definitely favorites!
    Great spotlight!
