So you know Shaq wasn’t going to let Kobe not winning a championship without him go past without him saying something, right? Watch this:

Let me say first of all, my love for Shaq goes deep…but this shit right here is childish and unnecessary. I realize that he was probably a little lit up (he was in a club) and called himself free-styling, and basically what he said was true (Kobe ain’t won no ring since Shaq left, let’s just keep it real), but the additional shit about Kobe ratting him out and his divorce, and all that “how my ass taste” crap…miss me with that.

I will admit that I got a few giggles in, but on the real, let this one go. I honestly think that Shaq could have shown how much he and Kobe have repaired the rift between them by taking the high road and not saying anything, or at the very least, not coming at him like this. Even if it was all in fun, this was a ball buster. Hitting a man when he’s already down is not cool. Shaq, you lost some points with me, dude.

Update: Seems as though there are repercussions: Shaq is going to lose his deputy badges over this rap…the story is on MSNBC…is it that serious?

  • Men are such babies really. I woman would never do that.

    @cooper - The biggest babies...I mean, seriously...
  • LMAO!!

    Sorry I disagree,

1- Shaq is only saying what everyone else is thinking.

2- You knew sooner or later some one was going to ask him about it. Why lie.

3- If a dude does B$%#$ things, like bring your name up during a rape investigation that you have nothing to do with, there is no letting it go, the rules is you take your shirt off and step outside and knuckle up like the man you were supposed to be.

@Clnmike - I agree with your first point, Mike...the truth is the truth...and number 2 also. But like this? Ion't know...I just think this forum was low...if he had done it in an interview with Stephen A., I'da been cool with it...but he hit him low...

But then again, I ain't no fan of Kobe so I don't know why it even matters to me...I guess I want to see Shaq be better than this...

I seen this before I went to sleep on MSN. So, there is going to be a lot more to this.
I think that Shaq should have just went on with his life and Kobe with his and brush each other of their shoulders.
But, these are celebrities and egos.
  • If I'm not mistaken Shaq didn't make it to the playoffs this year. What more is there to say?

I hope Kobe ignores it. (I don't care for either one of them.)
  • I am not a Kobe fan. I think he's too arrogant for his own good.

Was it the best way to go about it? No. But I think this is back when Shaq couldn't say anything when they were on the same team.

Anyway, maybe it's karma coming around for the Kobster. I'm sure this thing will go viral.
  • Man you know they are taking away the special deputy’s badge from him because of that rap?
  • Marvalus
@Clnmike - I just read that...I was finna do an update...that is too much!
  • I saw this video via MySpace TV and I was really shocked that Shaq had rhymes like that. Shaq went hard on Kobe! That was crazy! Whether Kobe is deserving of this, well, only he and Shaq know.
  • Kim
I know it was childish, but it was HEE-larious!! I was too through at the "I got a vasectomy, now I can't breed them line".

PS--I'm watching the BET awards, and its official, I am OLD.
  • Marvalus
@Kim - It was funny as hell...

    I said I wasn't going to, but I'm watching them too...glad I did or I would've missed Maxwell...

    ::swooning::
  • The Al Green tribute was the HIGHLIGHT of the night for me...and BET is supposedly my target age range right now.

    Um, yea...okay.
  • Dee
Shaq being childish ( I agree) I have to also say Shaq is ticked off from the comments that Kobe made awhile back (when Kobe had the rape charges against him) ..but sometimes we need to let it go. Kobe did not cause the demise of Shaq's marriage. His own fidelity and other issues did.

I didn't watch the BET awards, however I just watched all highlights. (and you know BET gonna run the re runs to the ground)..
  • Why does Shaq even have Kobe on the brain? Seems like there's some pain there that Shaq hasn't dealt with. He's hatin' and he needs to stop. As other commenters have said, it's childish. He needs to learn how to handle his pain and be accountable for his own actions. As well, he only did it to try to get people to take his side. You know how people do; they trash someone else trying to garner support for their own side. Yet this time, it backfired.

It's notable that Shaq hasn't done all that well himself with Kobe!
  • Marvalus
@KWiz - Blaming someone else for your mistakes is just stupid...and childish.

The one thing that Shaq does have over Kobe is that he won a championship somewhere else...but Shaq's career is done...
  • Let me preface this by saying I'm a major Kobe hater so when I initially heard about this, I was amused. When Kobe and crew were beaten down in that last game, one of my first thoughts was good, he still hasn't done it without Shaq! I'm a Heat fan so um, it's huge that he did win another championship without him...which is what Kobe was trying to do this season. Shut the naysayers up. And he choked down the stretch! In his MVP season at that!

    Moving on.

I think it has gone too far - with his badges being snatched and now I'm sure he regrets doing the ish in the first place. It was silly and it shouldn't even still be on his brain. But there is still some deep resentment there that will probably never go away. He blames Kobe for getting him traded and for bumping his gums. He does need to let it go.

He did some good things with that badge (remember he apprehended that criminal). So it's a shame it all has to end over this.
  • invisiblewoman
I agree with Urban Observation--I'm not a fan of either one. At all. But to take Shaq's badge? Boo.
  • I'm not a real fan of basketball or the players.

Shaq went off on Kobe. I don't know about the history of their rivalry, but I can see you're point about going too far and being childish.

I was shocked when the audience was repeating the lines. Hysterical! I can't stop laughing out loud.
  • I was disappointed in Shaq too. I mean he's kept his composure up until this point, so why loose it now. It wasn't worth the repercussion he's suffered.
  • oh my goodness what a mess
