The world is going to hell in a handbasket. This post is a rant of sorts, so bear with me…I’ve got to let some stuff go…

10 – R.

I stated in my post when this trial first started that if all the prosecution had to go on was the tape and a bunch of witnesses who were dubious, then they were going to lose. Here I am, in Missouri, and I could see holes bigger than the ones in the ozone layer…surely the prosecution could? If neither the lead actor (R.) nor the lead actress (the young lady) were testifying and both denying that it was them on the tape, how in the hell can you build a case based on witnesses who may or may not be able to identify the chick by her forehead or the size of her breasts? This shit happened 10 years ago…who remembers the size of this chick’s breasts 10 years ago?

Another thing, I don’t care if this young girl was a professional prostitute…she was a child. And R. is an adult. An adult + having sex with a child = a pedophile. Simple and plain. Excusing him because he “makes good music” or allowing justification because of some belief that people were trying to scam money from him is bullshit. Take a look at the facts and what you sincerely know. Not what you think, but know. Stop making excuses and stop blaming this child. Young girls don’t fall into this kind of behavior; they are made into this…instructed, taught, advised…kinda like what happened on the tape.

9 – Attacks on Michelle

So nothing else sticks and they go after Michelle, huh? She is the angry Black woman, right? No one understands where she could possibly come from with saying that she was proud of her country during this time, watching people come together for a common cause. There is no respect for her as a mother to two beautiful children, a wife who is forever standing by her husband, yet speaks her mind and doesn’t allow any bullshit to faze her. The pure ignorance of people amazes me. Everything is taken out of context and everything is twisted and pulled so far out of meaning that you cannot even remember what the original context was to begin with. But I tell you this: I understand what Michelle means. And I am right there with you, girl.

Check out the site that keeps track of all of the smears and attacks on Michelle Obama…Michelle Obama Watch, created by Gina McCauley of What About Our Daughters.

8 – Tiger

Tiger Woods makes them other golfers look like amateurs. That is all.

7 – No Air

Something is seriously wrong with me liking this song:

6 - Don’t Fight It

5 – The HRC Women

If the women that supported Clinton are not voting for Obama and will vote for McCain, why is McCain behind in the polls? Also, there is a superdelegate, Debra Bartoshevich, who says that she is a “little disenfranchised” and will be voting for McCain in November. WTF?!? Having been gifted the privilege of being a superdelegate, how in the hell does she not support the Democrats? Doesn’t this mean that she is automatically stripped of her superdelegate power/authority/title? Ms. Bartoshevich is an elected delegate in the state of Wisconsin, and has thrown her state’s party headquarters for a loop upon hearing of her switch.

OK, I get the disappointment, HRC supporters. And believe me when I tell you, I am not one of the Obama supporters that you continue to accuse of calling you names, and being rude to you, or whatever. But a candidate has been elected, fairly and squarely. Do you really want to support a Republican that goes against everything that you stand for, having aligned yourself with the Democrats, supposedly because of your beliefs, because you don’t like the candidate? Spare me.

4 – John McCain?

Um, has anyone checked his mental records? I have noticed in several interviews and when he speaks, he often repeats the same thing over and over again…just thought I’d mention it. And he doesn’t know how to use a computer, according to an article over on Huffington Post…just sad.

3 – Floods In Iowa

I’ve seen the images of water up to street signs and rooftops. People have had to evacuate their homes, and people have lost their lives. The damages are estimated at $737 million, and are rising every minute. Drinking water is scarce, and the President is in Paris.

2 – Don’t Sleep

I saw this the other day and recognized that the boy (Justin, that is) can sing. Don’t sleep…

1 – R.I.P. Tim

I still can’t get over the death of Tim Russert. I will watch Meet The Press tomorrow morning and probably cry the entire episode. Like with Peter Jennings, he was a rare combination of someone who I respected and admired because of his genuine commitment to journalism. I guess because I am a news junkie, he will always have a place in my heart. I watched Matt Lauer today doing a special on Tim, and watched him break down at the end of it and it touched my heart.

Remember to celebrate those you love while they are still here. Life is too short to wait until tomorrow.

@Clnmike - I thought of you when I did this...I knew how much you liked the Questions...
  • " recognized that the boy (Justin, that is) can sing."

I like him a hell of a lot more than that sissy Robin Thicke.

This reminds me were, are the "Questions" those were my favorite posts by you.

@SjP - The secret is that it is no secret; people all over Chicago can attest to him driving around, scouting for these young chicks...I've been done for a while now with him; I think it is criminal that people continue to make excuses for his sick ass...

@KWiz - Hey K! I know in my heart that the young lady in the tape with R. and her family were paid off...There will be some who will fall prey to the attacks on Michelle; then there are the smart people who will recognize the game and do what is right for the country...

I watched MTP this morning, and like I expected, I cried deep tears. I did almost make it until the end, but when Tom Brokaw choked up, I lost it...and then when they showed him doing his regular sign-off, I lost it again...I can't even imagine who can sit in that chair and serve it up like he did...

@Urban Thought - I think he is glued together at the seams...
  • McCain can't use a computer? Now, this isn't something to be taken lightly.
  • What a great post, Marvalus. R. Kelly's verdict was ridiculous, but what can you do when a witness won't testify? I personally believe her and her family were paid off. And when you don't have anything on the candidate, let's attack the family. I think the attacks on Michelle are going to backfire in a great way. And let's hope the Celtics put it away tonight! I haven't been a Lakers fan in awhile anyway. As far as HRC supporters, I think that once those hard feelings subside a little bit and they realize that McCain just wants to do what's worse for this country and for women (allowing the S.C. to repeal Roe v. Wade would be disastrous and dangerous for women across the country), they'll come around (there are more harsh things I'd like to say regarding their support for him because of a grudge, but I'll refrain right now). And finally, I watched the tribute to Tim Russert this morning. I'm not much of a crier. I tried to hold it in. I cried a little at the end. He touched so many lives for so long, and to hear such an endearing tribute was like, Wow. We sometimes say "It was his time to go. It was her time to go." I just can't get with that mindset right now. I'm not going to speculate on his health and all. I just think his departure was premature.

Thank you, Marvalus, for a great post, and allowing us to reflect on important issues. I appreciate your writing, because you are so incredibly thoughtful, and get us thinking intelligently about important issues in our world. I'm not trying to suck up; I just look forward to coming to see what you've written about daily. I was especially looking forward to what you were going to say about Tim. Thank you again.

10 - R.: The well kept secret that every body knows is that R is and alway has been a pedophile. Why the Chicago DA's office didn't build a case 'beyond a shadow of a doubt' is truly beyond me. The case they didn't have - not the verdict - is truly beyond me!

9 - Attacks on Michelle: What's happening to Michelle is evidence that America really doesn't know the nature of a Black Woman. They better recognize! Barack has tried to warn folks that they better leave her alone. But in that warning, these folks think that if they don't he'll go on the attack. I think not! He's trying to warn them against the tongue-lashing that will be received from Michelle. Hey! she's trying to be cool...but I suggest they leave her alone before she has an "OH HELL NO" moment and commences to taking off the earrings!

8 - Tiger: The best...simply the best! That's all I go to say about that!

7 - No Air: This song...Flavor of Love... What can I say!

6 - Don’t Fight It: I took Celtics in 5 when the series started! Maybe next year Kobe!

5 - The HRC Women: Wait till McCain puts their a$$es to work in at Micky-D's at below minimum wage with no health care and they see their tax dollars going to Iraq and their right to privacy flushed down the toilet - then they'll wish that they would have voted for "an inadequate Black man" (in the words of Harriet Christian). These women - the lot of them - are simply STUCK ON STUPID with Bartoshevich leading the pack!

4 - John McCain? I think he's a "Manchurian Candidate". There! I've said it! Been trying not to since he's a war hero. But, I ask you - where are the other soldiers who were captured in that POW camp? Was he the only one? I'm just asking...just saying...

3 - Floods In Iowa: "There's flooding in Iowa?" President Bush answered while exchanging his dollars for Euros during his trip to Paris.

2 - Don’t Sleep: I like JT! and Flavor of Love, too!

1 - R.I.P. Tim: Yes, R.I.P! He was genuine and sincere. Sunday mornings will not be the same... I didn't realize until this weekend that he was so loved and respected in the journalistic world or that he was truly a mentor. I will certainly miss him.

We have no control over the day our journey begins or the day our journey will end. We only have control what we do and the paths we take during this journey. I pray that during my journey, I leave the pile higher than I found it for those who will come after.
