After reading this article, and after following Tasha Smith’s career, she has earned a spot on my Icon list simply because she symbolizes to me what it means to move out of your own way.

Her life has not been easy, yet once she decided to let go and let God, there were miracles born unto her that can only be explained if you believe in faith and hard work. I can’t say anymore than the article can, but I will say this: when He speaks, listen; or you just may miss out on the biggest miracle of your life…

Peace and blessings…

  • She reminds me of my aunt. A lot of attitude and talent. Every time I see her on the screen I'm thinking to myself "she's working... yes!!!"

Thank you for putting a spot light her way. She is truly going to make an impact (not that she hasn't already).
  • This woman does know how to work a camera! I love her attitude on screen, and love what she has done to become what she is...
  • Amen, Amen! nice choice. I think we all need to get out of God's way!!
  • Thanks, Ms. Regina...He can do it, if you let him...
  • I find this sista to be so sexy. The only time she wasn't very attractive is when she played that crackh*e on 'The Corner'...yeah, definitely not a good look. Overall, she seems to be a strong woman; she exudes that strength anytime I see her portray a role.
  • She made that Tyler Perry movie worth watching...and trust me, it was hard for me too!

I really like her. I read that article yesterday myself and it made me definitely have more respect for her.
  • I like this choice. I haven't had a chance to read the article yet but I've heard a lot of conversation about it. Anyone that overcomes not one but two addicitions is a hero in my book. And yes, the camera does love her and I've liked her in most if not all of the roles I've seen her in.

When he speaks, listen..I'm working on it girl. :???: This is right on time.
  • Marcus - She is a strong woman...I like that in her...

Cynthia - She makes a movie better, no? She is blessed, and living her life like she knows it...it's definitely an example to follow...

V - The article is eye-opening and poignant...and was right on time for me, too...
  • the only thing better about knowing Tasha Smith...is she has an identical twin who is just as fab in her own way! Tasha has been thru the fire and is a testament to God's goodness!
  • I was watching Tyler Perry's "Why did I get married" a few days ago. Her character definitely was a highlight in the movie. That's a beautiful thing that she was able to rise above the demons in her life.
  • Bria - I know...her sister is just as fierce!

Lina - Ms. Tasha was definitely one of the highlights of WDIGM...
