You know, I like Michelle…I like her “stand by my man” attitude, I like the fact that she puts her family before anything (except for God), and I like the fact that she is beautiful and tall and clearly loves her husband. I can dig anyone who stands up for their man, but for Michelle Obama to do it on a national stage for the past year or so is noteworthy. But don’t get it twisted…Michelle is her own woman. She has her own mind, her own thoughts, and she’s very protective. Step across the line and see what happens.

Michelle LaVaugn Robinson Obama was born and raised on the south side of Chicago. She projects the image of the friend that listens and gives good advice…not the kind that tells you what you want to hear, but the one that is honest with you and tells you what you need to hear. She is not the type to mince words, as you should know if you have listened at all to her speak on the campaign trail for her husband. She also has a very dry, but witty, sense of humor that takes some getting used to, but keeps you on your toes.

This is a woman that I added to my list of Icons because she is unrelenting in her belief in her husband. I think she honestly and truly believes that he is the right man to lead this country. Listening to her speak on the decision for her husband to run, Michelle speaks passionately about why she gave her approval…

I envision a White House with this woman as First Lady that is full of love and compassion…I envision Michelle bringing women’s and children’s issues to the forefront with her forceful speaking and brilliant mind. I hope for the day that I see Michelle and her husband and their two beautiful daughters on the White House lawn, soaking in the atmosphere of being the First Family, bringing a change to the nation that is needed and welcomed…

Peace and blessings… Dove

Cosign! I saw her speaking to an audience today letting them know how IN TOUCH she and Barack are with middle class folk....she was real.... But of course the MSM immediately said she seemed "angry". I guess when WE speak with authority and confidence...we are "angry".
  • Just a beautiful and passionate woman...I hate it when I hear the MSM try to label her otherwise...
  • hey Marva,
Awesome pick for MarvaLus One Icon. she is a force to be reckoned with! If God willing... she will be an incredible first lady!
don't even waste your time being upset with MSM they do what they are programed to do! That is all entertainment, smoke and mirrors!
  • Thank you, Ms. Regina! It's overdue, but well worth the wait...
  • without really your post, i will just say that i am a big fan of michelle obama for her ride-or-die support of her husband. the two of them together are the picture of a very loving marriage indeed.
  • I love Michelle dare I say more than her husband? I know! Shame on me. She is one of the brightest people along w/her husband that I've seen in the political game for quite some time.

I wish them all the best and would love to be able to sing "Paint The White House Black" like my man from P-Funk; George Clinton.

I like Michelle, too! I think she is the epitome of what and who we call a "strong Black woman" who loves her man - but knows that he is just a man! She'll tell him about himself - but dares anyone else to do the same... Great choice for MOI! SjP

are you kidding me, there is nothing beautiful about this woman
  • LF - I thought of deleting your comment because you sound as though you are looking for a fight...you won't find that here.

This is my space and I pick who I believe deserves this recognition. I'm sure your disagreement has something to do with politics or some other bullshit...please don't bring that here.

I respect your opinion; and I disagree...let's just leave it at that...

    Peace and blessings...
